Med Student Providing Abortion Care

Med Student Providing Abortion Care

A Kentucky OB/GYN left the Midwest for Yale because she couldn’t practice the way she believed. No other outlet had the story.

Watch ↗

Found from a single tweet. She was a graduating OB/GYN writing about entering residency after Roe v. Wade was overturned — I cold-messaged her and she agreed to talk. She’d left the Midwest for Yale because she couldn’t practice medicine the way she believed in her home state. No other outlet had the story. It ran exclusively on HuffPost.

Dolly Parton × HuffPost

Dolly Parton × HuffPost

A candid conversation with Dolly Parton — on the royal family, on life, and the things celebrities rarely say out loud.

Watch ↗

Dolly’s team reached out about a promo opportunity and offered an interview. I worked with our royals reporter Carly — who had never been on camera — on the questions. We leaned into her expertise and got Dolly talking about the royal family alongside her own life. She was more candid than most celebrities are willing to be. It became something much better than a promotional spot.

An awards season roundup with Leah on camera as host.

On the Record

Queen Elizabeth II — Death of a Monarch
Led HuffPost’s full video coverage with senior leadership unavailable. Built the response from scratch — identified a first-time on-camera journalist with direct Kensington Palace access and directed the operation from the announcement through the follow coverage.
September 2022
President Biden Drops Out
Published HuffPost’s presidential withdrawal response video alone on a weekend with no team. Updated the pre-produced package with breaking developments in real time and got it live under deadline pressure.
July 2024
State of the Union
Produced Capitol Hill reporter Arthur Delaney’s first on-camera appearance live from the floor. Found an angle no other outlet had — a reporter standing next to the USA men’s hockey team with a first-hand view of the night — and coached him through his first time on record.
2025

I got into news because I believe understanding what’s happening in the world — quickly, clearly, before it changes again — is genuinely one of the most important things. Not everyone feels that way. I do.

I’m a political producer first. I love being at the front of a story, knowing what’s going on before most people do, and figuring out how to make it land for audiences who are busy and need the news to actually mean something to them.

For seven years at HuffPost, that’s been the job. My headline packages regularly crack 1.4 million views on HuffPost.com alone, before social. When Queen Elizabeth died and my boss was on leave, I led our video coverage. When Biden dropped out on a weekend with no team around, I got the video live. When I saw a tweet from a Kentucky OB/GYN who couldn’t practice medicine the way she believed, I cold-messaged her and turned it into a story nobody else had.

And then there’s the other thing I love just as much: managing, mentoring, being there when someone’s stuck on a pitch or a reporter needs help getting from point A to point B.
